Description
"Eye of the Road Runner" is a wonderful photograph of a wild road runner on a cold California day. He was puffed up to about twice his size and I am not sure if it was because he was cold or because he was friendly but he allowed me to get right up next to him. He even stayed put while I cleaned the humming bird feeder inches away from him. Had probably way to much fun photographing this amazing bird. Photograph taken in Palm Desert January 2019

WOW!!! How unusual ..... these birds seem to always be running... I have only seen them on the ground. I was standing outside by our sidewalk one day.... and I see this Road Running coming towards me from 100 feet away.... he ran right next to me, stopping briefly 10 feet past me, then crossed the street and continued on..... I had my camera as I was taking pictures of a Robin's nest.... so I started following the Road Runner for another 3 houses down the block..... He was not bothered by me, but really never stopped moving.
